Wind/Rain: When writing a wind/rain claim on an an HO1 or Standard policy, and you believe there is damage to the roof of the property, you must look for an opening in the roof in order to support the claim.
As a licensed adjuster, it is a good practice to check for smoke when you are doing a property inspection. Many times property owners have smoke damage that isn't always visible to the naked eye. Use of a test-sponge will help.
