What is a Public Adjuster & Why Do You Need One?
"We're Your Best Line of Defense!"
A Public Adjuster is a person licensed & bonded by the state to advocate for the policy holder when there is a loss. When you experience a loss or have an insurance claim at your property, the normal reaction for most property owners is to contact the insurance agent. For years many consumers had no other recourse during a loss, other than to accept what the insurance companies would pay. If they were unhappy about the settlement, they would then have to hire an attorney. This resulted in time consuming litigation and expensive attorney and court fees. At the end of this process, many customers found themselves paying out almost half their settlement for litigation. This cause consumers to complain to the Insurance Commisioner for help.
Advocating for the property owner.
Because so many consumers complained, the Dept. of Insurance decided to create a group of professionals called Public Adjusters, trained and licensed by the state to help consumers in the claims process. Additionally, the Public Adjuster was charged with the responsibility of making sure the customer was treated fairly and that no underpayments were made.
